Ideas for Your First EBook
By: Nicolas Gremion

We as people have a never ending desire to share information with others. For a long time there were very few people that could act on such impulses because only a select few individuals were fortunate enough to be journalists, writers, and public personalities. Times have changed, and now more then ever, people can get their ideas to the public at little to no cost, or sacrifice. One of the best ways to get this accomplished is through digital publishing, specifically authoring an e-book. This article explores a few valuable options for offering your own take on the world through the exciting medium of e-books.

Define your niche when coming to terms with a possible topic for your e-book. What is it that you can authoritatively write about? Is there anything that you know, that the general public could benefit from? Maybe you work for a radio station, and could offer tips on how to get the best concert tickets. If you are a bartender, what would be some tips on making drinks that could benefit the reader. Most everyone has a niche, even if it?s knowing how to lay on the couch all day without ever getting up. Whatever your niche is, by defining it you will give yourself some great material to write your first e-book on.

What makes you laugh on a day to day basis? Answering this question could help expose a possible topic for an e-book. Books are a form of entertainment, and humor is great way to entertain others. Don?t try too hard to be funny, instead simply allow yourself to share some funny experiences, and chances are others will be just as amused as you are by them. Think back to a time when you were in an awkward situation, or if you were witness to an embarrassing moment. It?s the oddities and irregularities of life that will help your audience identify with the e-book.

Keep your e-book simple, to the point, and clearly organized. If nothing else your e-book should be a clear reflection of your organizational skills. Always allow your reader to clearly follow your main purpose, and each of your supporting points. Don?t be afraid to flat out explain to the reader in the first chapter, or preface about your topic.

As long as you share your strengths with others you will have a solid foundation for an e-book. When lost for ideas pay attention to what questions are being asked of you on a daily basis, and then write an e-book with your answer to them.
